I've been dreaming of the ultimate chill party for many years and I am finally in a position to bring that dream (or a version of it) to life. Of course I can't do this all alone, so I've enlisted the help of Hendrik/Jaluka (the generous ringmaster of the Church of Bass) and recent Seattle transplant Adrian/Eckoe. Their excitement and passion for a similar dream gives me hope that this pipedream has actual validity beyond my skull. Together, we are shaping one tiny section of the universe into our version of chillout bliss. It's incredibly exciting to be working on a project that has lived in my head for so long and I can't wait to share it with you and the other chill-o-philes that I have yet to meet. This vision includes a comfortable environment, filled with pristine sound, soothing lights, amazing art and a soundtrack provided by the world's top ambient producers and DJs.

Gel-Sol ("IZ" CD release party)
Seattle's Gel-Sol is producer/musician Andrew Reichel, whose dichotomous sound spans from ambient soundscapes to complex, rhythmic electronica, creating a dynamic psychedelic universe with heavy emphasis on improvisation. In 2004, Gel-Sol released the critically-acclaimed Gel-Sol 1104 (aka Music Made For You...And By You, I Mean Me.) on the UK's cult ambient label Em:t Records. His follow-up album, Unifactor, continued the tradition of his unique, amorphous sound collages. A joint release between Psychonavigation and Canadian label Upstairs Recordings, his new album entitled "IZ," in his own words "Is an all-ambient adventure I wrote for my niece Izabella, who was born early last year." The album's music showcases Gel-sol's trademark melodic edge combined with sweeping synth pads reminiscent of '90s ambient albums from the likes of Pete Namlook and Global Communication.

EQlateral is a fascinating juxtaposition of world-class classical musicianship, electronica and avante garde artistry. Looking for some new CDs or downloads

Hi

Anybody got any recommendations for some good psychedelic dub tunes? I like both Ott albums and have some Gaudi stuff. I like my dub to actually have a dub rhythm like those two artists rather than say Pitch Black which is more ambient than dub. I like ambient stuff too haing plenty of vibrasphere downtemp stuff, shpongle etc etc but looking for more dub driven tunes.

Recommendations welcome!

BTW I don't know if you guys/girls have listened to the many free mixes available as podcasts on www.sacreddub.com which seems to be Bill Lazwell's site. I'm getting well into them. Some of them include psy dub artists but a lot of it is less techy. The ambient dubby vibe is great.

Dub with fat basslines and morning melodies

I've been searching for and listening to psy dub for quite a while now, and I'm looking for more stuff like the track What Vibration by Jimbo on the Multiple Organisms comp. Anyone got any suggestions?

I also love dub with ambient breaks breakdowns in the middle of the tracks, but What Vibration is one of the few tracks I've found with this.
I love the way ambient breaks and psydub compliment each other.

suggestions for either styles would be greatly appreciated.

I love Bluetech, Androcell, Ott, Youth, PhuturePrimitive, Shpongle, Dubdiver, Abakus, Ethnogenic, ooze, all of the interchill comps, etc.

Who's on tour and wants to go to Hawaii for gig??

I'm looking for a psy-dub/psy chill artist/DJ to book for a full moon event on north shore of Hawaii on July 28th. The event is to have about 150+ people on a large space of land, maybe even near a beach house. The perks for the booked dj will include free drinks, a free stay at the beach house, and the satisfaction that you're in Hawaii and helping our psy trance scene grow. It's an art event, but nowhere near a "festival", but we are fundraising for bigger and better outdoor events for the future. What would work: An artist, international or local who is touring around the late July time-frame and is able to "stop by" for a great experience.

HALLUCINOGEN
Hallucinogen (live) aka Simon Posford is a pioneer of electronic music and founder of the psychedelic trance scene. With the release of his first album, "Twisted", which reached Number 27 in the French album charts, a genre was born. There are many words to describe modern electronic music but none that come close to the wealth of emotion and experience that comes from listening to a Posford tune. These days he is just as likely to be entrancing crowds around the globe with a throbbingly epic live set as he is to be dribbling ambient delectations in the Hallucinogen Soundlabs in the West Country. He is co-director of Twisted Records with Simon Holton, ex-label manager of Dragonfly Records. Their label is one of the hottest underground gatherings of talent this side of Mars. Hallucinogen's second album "The Lone Deranger" blew the lid off the musical scene that had built up around his influence. Not only did it have more of the killer musical riffs but also was a feat of clean production and professionalism previously seen with the likes of The Floyd, one of Simon's major influences. Another tune that influenced Simon was "The Age of Love" by Jam & Spoon and this can be heard in some of his earlier releases. More recently he has produced tracks with Benji Vaughan as their band Younger Brother, Simon Posford has completed new sounds with Dub 'Ott' & Hallucinogen and is currently collaborating with the Twisted Allstars and touring the world spreading his music to all sorts.

Indigenous culture coverges sustainable fashion~*

Hiya*
new to this tribe and wanted to introduce myself through a project co created with the Shipibo of Peru.
The Shipibo are a tribe of approximately 30,000 who inhabit the amazon. Their embroidery work embodies the spirit of ayahuasca which is a long standing traditional medicine for these people. Since the presence of missionaries, ayahuasca is being fazed out. The women are even forgetting what the symbols they are embroidering mean!
I adventured down to Peru the past couple of months and had about 350 pieces of designer hemp and organic cotton fair trade clothing embroidered.
There were over 100 women who worked on these treasures and helped directly.
i even had the fortunate invitation to spread the work to some remote villages.
Thank you so much to all who made this project possible with your encouragement and support during the first phases last summer and fall***xoxo
*please note, this project was given permission to happen by the chiefs of each community. I have promised the Shipibo that none of their designs here will be replicated in whole or in part for personal profit outside of this project called Westiora-westiora is the Shipibo word for ONE =)

Well rather than do a Podcast every other Wednesday, I've decided to dedicate a monthly mix available for download.
This month's mix is a psy-chill mix that borders on the dark and wicked. Featuring: IDM, Glitch, Ambient, Psy-Breaks, and Psy-Chill. You'll also notice a handful of original tracks from yours truly.
